IMPROVING STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY THROUGH HASSLE LINES STRATEGY AT TENTH GRADE OF MA MA’ ARIF 07 BANDAR MATARAM IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018



This research design is Class Action Research (CAR). The problem in this
research is how can Hassle Lines Strategy improve students’ speaking ability at
the tenth grade of MA Ma’arif 07 Bandar Mataram in Academic year 2017/2018?
The objective of this research is to improve the students’ speaking ability the tenth
grade of MA Ma’arif 07 Bandar Mataram through Hassle Lines Strategy.
The researcher conducted the research in MA Ma’arif 07 Bandar Mataram.
The subject of this research is tenth grade of MA Ma’arif 07 Bandar Mataram in
Academic year 2017/2018 especially at class XB. It consist of twenty six students,
they are 8 male and 18 female. The instruments are test, observation, and
questionnaire. The analysis of the data is use qualitative and quantitative data.
From the observation, students’ active in the class. In cycle of Hassle
Lines Strategy, 81% the students prepare the conversation actively, 92% students
practice orally, 65% students can mention the body language, and 85% students
share to the teacher. From questionnaire, the researcher got the data Hassle Lines
Strategy implementing was 91% of student agree and 9% of student disagree, the
positive respond accomplished. From the test, 81% of students passed the KKM in
post Hassle Lines Strategy implementing.
The researcher concluded that Hassle Lines Strategy can improve
students’ speaking ability. This showed of students’ activities by observation,
students’ response by questionnaire and student’s score by test.
