IMPROVING THE STUDENTS WRITING SKIL IN DESCRIPTIVE TEXT BY
USING BITS AND PIECES GAME AT THE TENHT GRADEMA EL NUR EL
KASYSYAF SUKATANI KALIANDA

The objective of the study is improving the students writing skill in descriptive
text of the of the tenth grade of MA El Nur El Kasysyaf Sukatani Kalianda in Academic
Year of 2017/2018, through numbered head together giving full motivation, it mean that
through the numbered head together, can help the student ability in writing skill . The
problems of this research are students have low ability, especially in writing skill, most
of the students have difficulties in understanding English writing , and the result of
students writing skill score in unsatisfactory.
This research use Classroom Action Research (CAR), the action research was
done in two cycles. Each cycle is done in two meetings. Each cycle consists of planning,
acting, observing and reflecting. The material which was used in this research was some
example is: The youth responsible, free life style.In this research the writer have done
pre-survey. In collecting the data the writer uses test, and observation. Then the data
analysis techniques was using percentase. Having the data in the first and second
meetings of cycle 1, it show that the learning target has not been achieved, because the
students who got are under 78%. And In cycle 2 there are 80,00 %, students who got
score more are 75. The passing grade (KKM) is 75, it means that the target has been
achieved.
By implementing numbered head together in process of learning activity can
improve the writing skill s at the tenth grade of MA El Nur El Kasysyaf Sukatani
Kalianda . From data the students writing skill could be improved by using numbered
head together. It is proved by the higher score in cycle 2. The result of cycle 1 and cycle 2
shows that there is an improve from cycle 1 to cycle 2. Mean score of cycle 2 higher than
cycle 2. the result test at Cycle I and Cycle II, it could be said that there was improving
of students‘ writing skill especially in descriptive text. There was progress from
average 69.75 at Test Cycle I and Test Cycle II increased 76.25. Then, the percentage
were improved from 40.00% in Test Cycle I and improved 80,00% in Test Cycle II. So, it
could be concluded that using numbered head together strategy has positive effect toward
the teaching and learning process, especially in writing skill descriptive text was
improved.
